Description

ADRB2 is a membrane-integrated protein that mediate the effects of catecholamines at the cell surface. The 5' leader region contains a uORF encoding a 19-amino acid peptide. uORF inhibits receptor translation. Indeed the á2 receptor uORF ATG codon was mutated and approximately 2-fold more receptor was expressed respect from wild type.
